Thank you for your appreciation of our work.
I can tell you we spent quite a lot of time on the design of the UI for Jobs. (That was in NCM 7.2 development.) The main reason for the wizard approach we selected is that the input values are dependent. Example: different job types have completely different parameters (config change report vs. execute script vs. database cleanup etc.). You select nodes for most jobs, but there are also some for which you don't.
This is also the main reason why you can't enter all job details on a single page.
Based on user feedback, we then implemented an improvement: You can click "Finish" on the first screen when editing an existing job.
